Performance
Revenger’s racing boats have taken line honours and broken many
records over the past 10 years – both in competition and endurance.
Their
hulls are based on a successful and proven race boat design by
renowned naval architect, Don Shead that incorporates the concepts
that make this type of boat so safe.
The
deep-V wave-piercing hull, together with three wide spray rails,
offers superb tight handling, smooth dry ride and impressive speeds.
The five-chambered high quality Hypalon inflatable tubes provide
unrivalled stability and buoyancy both at rest and at speed.
Shearwater's design is also based on a record-breaking hull design
by Mike Ring - whose interest in power boats started in the
mid-1960's. A number of his powerboat designs found success
competing in various championships in the UK and Europe and over the
past two decades bigger hulls have been developed for offshore
racing.
It is
these designs that have provided the platform for the Shearwater 860
cabin RIB - a deep-V hull able to offer the combination of speed and
performance with the added flexibility of a cabin.
Ribsport offer the ETEC range of outboard engines by Evinrude
ranging from 150HP on the Revenger 715 to 250HP on the Shearwater
860.
The race-developed hulls of the Revenger performance Ribs can
develop speeds of up to 100km/hour in flat calm conditions, where
their design ensures smooth straight tracking and excellent
stability in the turns.
In
rougher conditions, the RIB concept of rigid hull and inflatable
‘collar’ maximises safety through increased stability and buoyancy
compared to many more conventional boat designs.
