Safety Features
The
combination of a Deep-Vee hull and inflatable tubes give a RIB its
outstanding sea-keeping qualities. The tubes act as shock absorbers,
taking a high percentage of the impact on a boat thus reducing the
stress on the crew, while the lateral movement is also reduced
significantly, giving a far more stable ride than other types of
boat.
A RIB can handle seas way beyond what other types of boat the same
length could handle, its ability to not take on much water but at
the same time to be able to get rid of it quickly if necessary make
RIBS a special type of boat.
The Revengers from Ribsport feature extremely rigid hull
construction derived from longitudinal stiffeners encapsulated in
GRP running the full length of the vessel supporting the bottom
spray rails. The substantial transverse frame supports the hull’s
longitudinals and offers a wide base for load transfer from the
deck.
The hull has an Isophthalmic gel coat surface which offers excellent
resistance to UV and Osmosis, and high quality Hypalon tubes
produced by the leading inflatable collar manufacturer. The use of
Lloyd’s approved materials throughout construction of the craft
ensures longevity.
Shearwater hulls also enjoy a fine reputation for their quality of
construction and safety, with all materials used in their
construction approved by Lloyds, and utilising the same market
leading Hypalon fabric for tube manufacture.
